Contemporary dance classes

Nicolas offers a class composed of excercises linked to the gaga dance technique, which invites participants to be in touch with the present moment, and to open up to potential of the body via all its joints and articulations. The artists will then experiment with choreographic combinations, that intertwine ground work with standing, speed and slow, jumps and minimalism. This class allows one to go as far as one can with the body, and to test its limits. The artist can hone his or her artistic tool; the body.

Nicolas Zemmour graduated in 2007, and holds a diploma from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional du Grand Avignon. In 2009, he continues his training at the Folkwang Universität Essen, in order to learn the technique and philosophy of Pina Bausch, whom he meets while training with the company, a meeting that greatly influences his vision of art and dance.

In 2013 he founds his company, ZemmourBallet, and in 2017-2018, in collaboration with Les théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, gives birth to his first international creation, La brisure des vases. In 2019, he emigrates to Quebec and installs himself in Sherbrooke, where he is offered a residency at the Centre des arts de la scène Jean-Besré for 2020-2021.
