  • 21 November 2016 - The Cicada and the Ant in Sherbrooke for one performance!

    After touring in China this summer and in Western Canada this fall, The Cicada and the Ant will stop briefly at the Centre culturel at the University of Sherbrooke in December for a school matinee that is also open to the general public. An opportunity that is not to be missed to (re)discover this production!

  • 10 November 2016 - Training classes with Heidi Strauss

    The company is pleased to welcome for the second consecutive year choreographer and dancer Heidi Strauss, who will be offering classes in Sherbrooke from November 21st to December 2nd. Her classes received rave reviews last year, with participants asking for her to be invited back!

  • 13 October 2016 - The Cicada and the Ant in Western Canada

    After two performances at the Yukon Arts Centre in Whitehorse on October 11th and 12th, the company is headed to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, to present The Cicada and the Ant at the Northern Arts and Cultural Centre on October 15th at 7:30 p.m. The final stop on the Western Canadian tour will be on Sunday, October 23rd at the University Centre Farquhar Auditorium in Victoria, British Columbia.

  • 14 September 2016 - The Sursaut Dance Company Maintains its Momentum for the 2016-2017 Season

    Back from a six-week tour in China this summer, the Sursaut Dance Company pursues its 2016-2017 season and will be back on the road again this fall with the production The Cicada and the Ant, which will be presented throughout Canada this year. Some fifteen shows will be presented in The Yukon, Northwest Territories, British Columbia, Ontario and Québec!

  • 23 August 2016 - Training Classes

    The company is happy to announce that training classes for dance professionals will be offered once again in 2016-2017 at the Centre des arts de la scène Jean-Besré! Sara Hanley, Heidi Strauss, Louise Lecavalier and Lina Cruz will be teaching classes and workshops in collaboration with the Regroupement québécois de la danse and L’Artère in Quebec City and thanks to the financial support of Emploi-Québec and the CQRHC.

    The first classes of the season will take place from September 19th to 23rd 2016 to with Sara Hanley. For more information on these classes click here.

  • 8 July 2016 - Summer Hollidays

    Our office will be closed for three weeks as of July 12th. We will be back on August 2nd, rested and ready to continue our busy 2016-2017 season! Have a good summer!

  • 1 June 2016 - Help us bring The Cicada and the Ant to China!

    The company has launched its first ever crowdfunding campaign! Support the international dissemination of our show The Cicada and the Ant, which will be presented on tour in China from July 13th to August 23rd. Your support is needed for the success of this six-week expedition to the Middle Kingdom!

  • 24 May 2016 - A Third Tour in China for the Sursaut Dance Company

    Following the resounding successes of the 2012 and 2014 tours of At nightfall, the company will be off to China once again this summer for a six-week tour. The production The Cicada and the Ant will be presented in 13 Chinese cities, for a total of 16 shows between July 13th and August 23rd.

  • 12 May 2016 - Registration is still open for this summer’s dance camp

    There are only 8 spots left for this summer’s dance camp! Registration is ongoing until June, don’t miss out, reserve your place today! From July 4th to 8th, the dance camp will allow youth to become familiar with movement in all of its forms as well as diving into the world of choreographic creation.
