Inspired by Botticelli’s Spring, Spring Marmalade is an exuberant, touching, and at times absurd work, where delicacy rubs shoulders with rebellion. Its out of frame version leaves the theater to reach new audiences—in parks and right in the heart of the city—during a festival or summer event. Created for teenagers, it ultimately appeals to audiences of all ages, with powerful scenes dotted with oranges that explore themes that are both current and timeless—abundance, identity, difference, and living together.

Like a chameleon, the play changes its character depending on the space that hosts it. On concrete or asphalt, it leans toward punk and asserts its contemporary side. In a park, surrounded by trees like the figures in the painting, it takes on a bucolic feel and lets its classical influences shine through. Each venue gives it its own unique character, without detracting from its charm or power. Lightweight and easy to stage, it fits seamlessly into festivals and outdoor events.
