The class will focus on curiosity about bodily possibilities, clarity and fluidity of movement, and letting go. It will oscillate between personal experience, using specific proposals to guide movement exploration, and written exercises, mixing floor work with different levels in space. This will allow participants to surpass themselves, burst into space, get warm, and have fun together.

Please note that this will be a physical class. There will be a customizable approach to respect each participant’s experience and background. Ease and curiosity in floor work are highly encouraged.

About Odile-Amélie

Originally from Montreal, Odile-Amélie Peters grew up in Quebec City among hip-hop competition studios (choreography). Her passion led her to pursue her studies in contemporary dance at L’École de danse de Québec, where she graduated in 2012. Since then, Odile has worked with various companies and choreographers in Quebec City, Montreal, and Vancouver, such as Le fils d’Adrien danse, Company 605, Skeels danse Montréal, Radical System Art, Charles Brecard, Geneviève Duong, Le CRue, and Mikaël Xystra Montminy. She has collaborated with Danse K par K on several projects, including De la glorieuse fragilité, Les miniatures, Osez, et Osez! En solo. Odile-Amélie is a performer for the company Alan Lake Factori(e), with whom she has worked on various works since 2013, including Jardins catastrophe, Le cri des méduses, Parades – la trilogie, and Le mythe d’Orphée (presented by Le Trident and directed by Alan Lake and Frédérique Bradet). This significant collaboration continues to this day.

As an emerging teacher and choreographer, Odile-Amélie Peters is currently deeply invested in her own research projects with great curiosity and interest in creation. Thanks to a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts and the support of La Rotonde, Odile-Amélie was able to embark on a research residency as a performer and producer under the artistic direction of guest choreographer Dorotea Saykaly.
