A Franco-Quebec contemporary dance artist, Flora grew up between the mountains and the countryside, where she practiced skiing, tennis and other outdoor activities. Gradually, her passion for movement and creativity through dance began to guide her. She first trained at the Conservatoire de Montpellier (France) before moving away from academic codes and pursuing her first choreographic impulses with a solo as well as a group piece, Être(s), presented at the Temps Danse festival in Arles (France) in 2015. Eager to learn, she continued her training at the École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal (EDCM), where she met choreographers such as Annie Gagnon, Sarah Dell'Ava, Sophie Corriveau, José Navas, Lucy May, Helen Simard, Manuel Roque, Édouard Hue and Andrew Skeels.
After graduating in 2018, she remains based in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyaang/Montréal and is mainly involved in projects as a dancer-performer in Québec. She took part in Parts+Labour_Danse's Fly project with Caveat (2018) before joining Sherbrooke-based company Sursaut in 2020, with whom she danced and collaborated on the creation of Échos by Francine Châteauvert, then Moïra, Écrin du destin and Printemps Marmelade by Morgane Le Tiec. She also dances for up-and-coming creators such as Stefania Skoryna with Ellipses (2023) and Julien Derradj with Les Bestioles (2024).
At the same time, Flora continues to develop, wearing different hats as cultural mediator, outside eye, rehearsal director and/or choreographic assistant. In offering workshops to Sursaut's young audience, she likes to awaken the notion of pleasure, creativity, kinesthetic sense and inclusion. In her role as accompanist to artists such as Vicky Gélineau and the Fleuve | Espace Danse company, she sharpens her sense of detail by providing artistic support at various stages of the process. She also draws inspiration from improvisation and various creative projects. Through dance, she wishes to share her desire to feel, love, move and exchange through human values, in order to connect with oneself and others.
