Founded in 1985 in Sherbrooke—Kchi Nikitawtegwak, the Sursaut dance company is dedicated to the creation, production, and presentation of choreographed works for young people and audiences of all ages. Presented from coast to coast in Canada and abroad, Sursaut’s bold and accessible works nurture curiosity, stimulate creativity, and bring generations together.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Artistic and Executive Director and working under the supervision of the Administrative Director, the incumbent will operate within a work environment based on collaboration, the sharing of expertise, and mutual support. He or she will actively contribute to the organization’s projects and assume the following responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a philanthropic development plan;
• Identify and solicit foundations, companies, and various donor organizations in alignment with the company’s values and mission;
• Collaborate with the team to integrate strategies specific to private fundraising into operations:
o Develop communication strategies tailored to philanthropic development projects;
o Draft materials to facilitate fundraising efforts (brochures, programs, various letters, etc.);
o Coordinate the organization of the fundraising event to be held in the spring of 2027;
• Draft donation requests, partnership proposals, and grant applications, as well as reports when required;
• Help organize one-time events for the company (press conferences, special events, etc.);
• Perform administrative tasks specific to the role: gathering information, sending out documentation, coordinating meetings, etc.

DESIRED PROFILE
• College or university degree in a relevant field (administration, communications, management, public relations, marketing, etc.);
• Experience in fundraising, philanthropic development, or business development (a plus);
• Excellent command of French, both spoken and written, and good knowledge of English;
• Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to team dynamics;
• Initiative, creativity, independence, and excellent interpersonal skills;
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to achieving objectives;
• Knowledge of the dance or arts community (an asset).

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
• Compensation in accordance with the company’s salary policy based on a 15-hour workweek. Overtime may be granted in connection with the fundraising event;
• Flexibility in work schedules, work-life balance, personal time off, and family benefits for company activities;
• On-site work at the Jean-Besré Performing Arts Center in Sherbrooke;
• Start date: early October;
