Kyra Jean Green’s class is designed to challenge and inspire students as they dive into the world of movement and creativity. By focusing on improvisational techniques and choreographic phrase work, the class aims to improve the skills of the participants and open up new possibilities in dance.

With 17 years of experience, Kyra brings an approach that encourages students to take risks and push their boundaries in a safe and supportive environment.

Kyra’s class begins with positive affirmations, which serve as a reminder that well-being and health begin in the mind. Students are then guided through a warm-up and exploration of the different space plans inspired by the exercises developed by William Forsythe.

Kyra then guides participants to explore ground work. Different ideas such as qualities of movement, textures, shapes and sizes are explored, starting one idea at a time and finally, superimposing them.

In addition to these improvisation exercises, the class will focus on learning choreographic phrases that include the floor, dynamic movements and jumps.

With this class, students can expect to develop their technical skills, deepen their understanding of contemporary dance and grow as artists.
